Ruth Leona “Cuppy” Rennick, 98, of Bessemer City, North Carolina and formerly of Montezuma, passed away on January 13, 2021 in North Carolina.
She was born in Dana, IN on September 19, 1922, to Samuel E. and Lucy M. Beach Petty.
She worked with her husband on a farm and was a cook at the Newport Army Ammunition Plant.
She was married to Marvin Rennick on July 31, 1943 and he preceded her in death on March 14, 1992.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; her foster parents; 4 sisters; 1 foster brother; 9 foster sisters; and a son-in-law, Bill Bruce.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Sally Bute and Margaret Bruce; several sisters-in-law; 4 grandchildren, Mandy Bruce Lynch (Derek), Patricia Bruce Brock, Michele Bute Davis (Scott) , and David Bute (Annie); 10 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Samantha, Hunter, Gabrielle, Alec, Jenna, Landon, Marissa, Hadlie, and Stella; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at 3 pm at Brown-Mack Funeral Home in Montezuma with Rev. Keith McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Montezuma.
