Milburn E. Blacketer, 72, of Montezuma, passed away at the Gibson Hospice Center at Union Hospital in Terre Haute on Saturday, October 10, 2020.
He was born in Clinton to Hubert and Reba Moore Blacketer on December 27, 1947.
He was employed at Olen-Flexel for 28 years and at the Rockville Correctional Facility for 10 years. He was a US Army veteran having served during the Viet Nam War. He was a life member of the Fish and Game Club, a former member of the Montezuma Fire Department, and assisted in driving veterans to the VA .He also was a youth baseball coach for many years. He also was a graduate of the Montezuma High School class of 1965. On May 19, 1968, he married Judy McMillan and she survives him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe and Jim (Connie); and sisters, Bonnie Sykes and Nancy Hubbard.
In addition to his wife, Judy, he is survived by 2 sons, Rob of Montezuma and Dan (Rachel) also of Montezuma; grandchildren, Cody (Heather) Blacketer, Dolcey Schultz, Meghan Blacketer (Tony), Austin (Kirsten) Blacketer, Logan Blacketer (Sabrien), Morgan Blacketer (Michael), Bryce (Shayla) Shultis, Tyler Blacketer, McKenzie Blacketer, Miah Blacketer; special niece, Taylor (Stephen) Mielks and special nephew, Jaycee (Cierra) Shoemaker; great-grandchildren, JayVion, Avah, Samiya, Layton, Kolton, Karson and Aurora Blacketer, and Maddox Watt; a sister, Linda (Larry) Glaspie of Centenary; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 from 4 to 8 pm at Brown-Mack Funeral Home in Montezuma. Military honors will be performed and funeral services will be Thursday at 11 am at the funeral home with Rev. Scott Uselman officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Montezuma.
