Mathieu Johnston Scott, 93, of Montezuma, died at 7 am on June 6, 2016 in her residence. She was born February 12, 1923 in Hiseville, KY to William Williamson and Willabelle Grider Williamson.
She had worked in real estate management and was a WWII US Navy Veteran. She was a chairman for the American Cancer Society for the state of Indiana, VFW Women’s Auxiliary, an avid reader, loved gardening and sewing, and also loved to renovate old properties.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Scott; and sisters, Barbara Wittenmyer, Judy Dickerson, and Phyllis Norris.
She is survived by three daughters, Dierdre J. Llewellyn of Terre Haute, Mathieu J. Nunery of Indianapolis, and Carlotta M. Riley of Milan, IN; two brothers, Donald and Joan Williamson of Franklin and Bill and Charlotte Williamson of Hillsdale; one sister, Mary and Dave Thomas of Montezuma; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9-11 on Friday at Brown-Mack Funeral Home. Services will begin at 11 with Reverend Keith McIntyre officiating. Military honors will be performed. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Wabash Valley or the American Cancer Society.
