Brown-Mack Funeral Home
Lester Dale Vandevender, 72, of Rockville, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 12:05 pm at his residence.
He was born October 8, 1947, in Mecca, Indiana, to Edward and Mavis Bennett Vandevender. He married Holly Rae Campbell on January 27, 1967, and she preceded him in death on May 31, 2010.
He has left behind three daughters, Kimberly (Mike) Sibert of Bearden, AR, Denise (Jim) Adlard of Portland, OR, and Dawn “Tinker” (Roger) Crowder of Rockville; Special Daughter, Brenda (Tim) Honaker of Rosedale, IN; Special Son, Michael (Kim) Reid of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Amanda (Amber) Reid, John Michael (Ashley) Reid, Jessica (Joe) McWilliams, Rogie Crowder (Catlin Shillings), Hollydawn, Jimi, David, and David Crowder, Timothy (Catlin) Honaker, Leslie (Michael) Honaker, and Ozzy Jones; Special Sitter, Diane Capps; Great-grandchildren, Justin, Logan, Michael, Ruth, and Ava Reid, Skylar McWilliams, Brantley, Lucas, and Quinn Honaker, and Ryker Pettis.
Dale retired from Parke County Highway Department. He also retired from self-employed as mechanical contractor.
He was preceded in death by his wife, father (Ed) and mother (Mavis) Vandevender; one brother (David); and a great-granddaughter, Ryan.
The family would like to thank VNA Hospice, especially Lori and Gwen for the great care they provided.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 4 to 8 pm at Brown-Mack Funeral Home in Montezuma. Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 17 at 11 am at the funeral home with Rev. Keith McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Montezuma.
