Karen Lewis, 79, of Montezuma, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at her residence.
She was born January 15, 1942, in Quaker, IN, to Heston and Elsie Neild Rumple.
She worked 43 years at the Parke County Court House Plat Office. She retired on December 31, 2020.
She served many years on the Montezuma Fire Department Auxiliary. She also was on the Parke County Cemetery Board to preserve the history and genealogy of them; and she helped with the Parke County historical properties.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ronnie Lewis; her parents; 4 brothers, Ronald, George, Jim, and Jack Rumple; and many extended family members.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Ronda (Lisa) Lewis of Terre Haute; sons, Jim (Debbie) Lewis of Westfield, and Mike Lewis of Montezuma; 4 grandchildren, Nathan, Evan, Ryan, and Madyson; 2 step-grandchildren, Jake Pefley and Marcus Styleburg; an uncle; 2 aunts; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be on Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 4 to 8 pm at Brown-Mack Funeral Home in Montezuma. The funeral service will be on Monday, June 28 at 11 am at the Hopewell Friends Church with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Carl Huxford will officiate. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Hillmon Fire Department.
