James "Jim" E. Southard

James Southard, 69, of Dana, Indiana passed away on July 22, 2023, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.

He was born April 4, 1954, in Clinton, to Emmet Southard and Lois Marshall Southard.

He had previously worked at the brickyards in Hillsdale and Cayuga. He was a graduate of Clinton High School. He was a Hillsdale Volunteer Fireman and a member of the Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Martha Smith; and a brother, Robert Southard.

He is survived by his brothers, Larry (Shirley) Southard of Hillsdale, and J. B. Southard also of Hillsdale; a nephew, Wesley Southard of Clinton; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

There will be a Fireman’s Memorial at the Dana Firehouse on Sunday August 27, 2023, from 1:00pm until 4:00pm with the Fireman’s Memorial Service at 3:00pm. Shoes are optional. Cremains burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Hillsdale, Indiana.
