Donna Jean Crichfield, (Wittenmyer), was born October 27, 1942, in Montezuma, Indiana to Cecil and Anna Wittenmyer. She left this world due to natural causes on Monday;, September 6, 2021, at 7:25 pm in Terre Haute, Indiana, surrounded by loved ones. Donna was a lifelong member of the Montezuma Christian Church. She was a devout Christian woman who praised her Savior as often as possible and lived in constant awareness of her many blessings. Those who were lucky enough to know her will remember her big smile and infectious laughter.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Larra Lee Garrett.
She is survived by her loving husband James L. Crichfield, 81, of Bloomingdale, Indiana and Carolyn Tickle (Wittenmyer) of Terre Haute, Indiana, as well as her children, Joanna Bonebrake (Garrett) Sullivan, Indiana, Anthony Edward Garrett, of Montezuma, Indiana, Larry Norman Garrett of Terre Haute, Indiana; her grandchildren, Wendy Coopenhaver (Beverly) of Sullivan, Indiana, Brandi Jaffri (Beverly) of Terre Haute, Indiana, Monti Gilmore (Beverly) of Sullivan, Indiana, and Casey Garrett, Clinton; and numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her husband Jim's family including son and daughter-in-law Steven and Kathy Crichfield, Bloomingddale, Indiana; and grandchildren, Katie Chobanov, of Indianapolis, and Heather Crichfield, of Bloomingdale, Indiana.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the numerous talented and compassionate medical professionals who took care of Donna over the years and especially during these most difficult few months, including her grandson-in-law, Dr. Answer Jaffri of Terre Haute, Indiana.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 12 pm at Oakland Cemetery in Montezuma with Rev. Keith McIntyre officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in her name to the Parke-Vermillion Humane Society or any such charity for animals. We are blessed to carry on Donna’s love for animals in our own lives and hope that, like her smile, her compassion for all of God’s creatures will continue to inspire those of us still here.
