Donald Summers Obituary

Brown-Mack Funeral Home

Donald Lee Summers, 79, a resident of Montezuma, Indiana, passed to the Lord peacefully with his family by his side, on March 18, 2022.  He was born in Logansport, Indiana to Lloyd and Beulah (Cox) Summers.  Donald married his beloved wife, Crystal Todd in 1968.  They celebrated 53 years of a wonderful marriage and created a great family.

Donald is survived by his loved ones, his wife, Crystal; daughter, Tiffany Bryan (Terry); son, Eric; granddaughter, Olivia Morge (Ryan); and great-grandchildren, Braelynn, Gavin, and Colson.  Don is also survived by his brother, James (Isabel) of Cleveland; brother-in-law, Mike Todd (Myra); sister-in-law, Pam (and the late Kevin Todd); as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Don is remembered for his evangelism in Belize, Peru, Ecuador (with Cris), and Columbia, where he convinced hundreds to commit themselves to Jesus.

He served others through the Hillcrest Community Center.  For the protection of American freedom, Don served in the Indiana National Guard.  Don also had a career of barbering and plastic film making and after retirement, worked as a Walmart greeter, in Paris, Illinois.  He loved it, but his most treasured memories were spent with his great-grandchildren, Braelynn, Gavin, and Colson, who gave him the nickname, Pappy and who he absolutely adored.

Services will be Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Helt’s Prairie Cemetery in Vermillion County, Indiana, about one mile west of Hwy 63, (1050 S Rd, across from Elanco).  Open visitation will begin at the graveside at 1:30 PM, with funeral services to follow at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Tom Roeschlein and Pastor Keith McIntyre officiating.  In lieu of flowers, please donate in Don’s honor, to his favorite charity, Hillcrest Community Center (503 N 8th St, Clinton, Indiana, or PO Box 127). Brown-Mack Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.brownmackfuneralhome.com.
