David B. Capps, 76, of Mecca, IN, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. He was born August 10, 1941 in Mecca to Joe and Mary Murphy Capps.
He graduated from Mecca High School in 1959. He worked at Alcan and Futurex Industries most of his life. David loved his family, fishing, and puttering around on his Cub Cadets.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Stub; and two sisters, Sharon and Peggy.
He is survived by his wife, Diane, who he married October 24, 2009; two daughters, Angie Mathas, and Audrey (Bryan) Keller, both of Montezuma; two step-daughters, Amanda Schmidt of Clinton and Brandie (John) of Mecca; eight grandchildren, Wesley (Danielle), Wade, Whitney (TJ), Carly, Clay (Macy), Nick (Cheyanne), Shakya, and Zoie; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Walker, Jameson, Erik, Koel, Serenytie, and Dixie Rose, who’s arriving on October 2nd; one brother, Pat (Dianne) Capps of Anderson; two sisters, Katherine Curry of Anderson and Bea Shoemaker of Clinton; several nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Dave Cade of Danville, IL and Pat Tuton of Montezuma.
Cremation has been chosen. Memorial visitation will be from 11-1, at Brown-Mack Funeral Home, on Saturday, April 28. Services will be held at 1 PM, with Reverend Tim Guoli officiating.
