Montezuma
Darrel R. Walters 78 of Montezuma passed away on Jan 24, 2012 at 5:50pm in Union
Hospital of Terre Haute. He was born on Sept 29, 1933 in Mecca to Stanley Walters and
Dorothy Myers Walters. He graduated in 1951 from Mecca High School and served in
the National Guard. He was a technician with Indiana Bell when he retired. He was a 50
year member of both the Montezuma #89 F&AM and the OES #537 and also the
Montezuma Christian Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kathryn Walters, son Steve Walters and
a grandson Bryan Clapp.
He is survived by a daughter Joanna & Brad Clapp of Montezuma, a daughter in law
Karen Walters of Rockville. A sister Betty Deplanty of Rockville and a special friend Judy
White of Montezuma. Grandchildren; Jason, Nathan, Kaitlin & Camryn Clapp, Shannan,
Ashley and Brady Walters. 3 great grandchildren; Kingston Underwood, Jacee Jo
Stonebraker and Kade Cox. Also several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Saturday at Brown-Mack Funeral Home in Montezuma from 10am
until Noon with the Masonic Service to be held at Noon. A service will follow with Rev.
Keith McIntyre officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to Riley Childrens Hospital or the Montezuma Masonic Lodge #89 F&AM.
